How to Make your Bathroom look More Expensive

You spend so much time in the bathroom, and it’s not just for the obvious reasons. You spend countless hours showering and getting ready, so you should enjoy the space you’re in. If you’re not exactly in your dream bathroom, that’s okay because we’re here to help! There’s plenty of ways to decorate your bathroom to make it look more expensive. Now, if you’re designing a bathroom from scratch and want to make it look expensive, there’s also ways to create illusions that the space is bigger and better.

Designing aside, let’s take a look at some of the ways to decorate your space and give it the 5-star luxury look that you’re going for.

USE CONTAINERS

If you’re staying at a fancy hotel or even go in to use the hotel lobby bathroom, you may notice that they keep things in containers. Now, if you’re not someone who likes to leave their toiletries out, this may not be for you. But, if you do want some of your things left out for convenience, listen up! Instead of leaving your toothbrush out on the counter or in a cup from your kitchen, put it in an elevated tumbler. Instead of keeping your q-tips in their cardboard containers, opt for an acrylic jar. Place your bar soap in an aesthetic dish instead of leaving in on the side of the sink.  By placing all of your items in specific containers, it adds a touch of organization that can greatly improve the look of your space.

REPLACE YOUR MATS

A dirty bath mat can really ruin the aesthetic and overall appearance of your bathroom. Replacing your bath mat can be a relatively inexpensive way to help upgrade your space. Instead of using the same mat that you’ve used since college, throw it out, and start fresh. Rugs with intricate or bold patterns can be great ways to help minimize the look of dirt and still keep your space looking fun and fresh.

ADD HANGING MIRRORS

Unfortunately, many of us are subject to the mirrors that come in our bathrooms already, which can be very average and not flattering. Instead of spending your time looking into those, replace your mirrors with something new. While replacing your mirror with your own may be a bit expensive, it’s an investment that can be worth it. If you’ve bought it, it’s yours, so you can take it with you everywhere you move. Opting for a mirror that is in a different shape than your typical rectangular or square-shaped one can give your bathroom a personal look. Try a mirror with a fun frame or one that’s hanging. Circular hanging mirrors have become extremely popular lately and can be fitted to whatever theme you’re going for. Hanging a mirror on the wall also allows for more wall space to be shown which can make your space look bigger.

MONOGRAM

A monogram can add the biggest touch of sophistication to your bathroom. It shows personalization and class, and it’s probably not as expensive as you think. If you don’t want to go the full route of getting all your initials monogrammed on a bath or hand towel, you can probably find something with your first or last initial at stores such as Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Target, and any other store that sells bath products. It may take some digging and you may have to order them online, but it’s the little things that matter most and monograms are true testaments to that statement.

METAL ACCENTS

Most luxurious bathrooms tend to have some sort of minimalistic theme to them. It may be the color pallet, the decorations, or the overall layout. Adding an accent color or design to your bathroom can make the entire space come together as a whole, and then create a more luxurious feel. We’ve been seeing tons of metal accents such as brass, copper, and gunmetal being featured this year. Due to the simplistic nature of these, they can add a touch of class to any room. They are also usually easy to find amongst home decor stores. Try adding metal accents to your faucets, soap dishes, door handles — the list is endless!

HANG THINGS UP

Placement is key when obtaining the overall look and feel that you want to create in a room. If your bathroom isn’t the biggest when it comes to floor space, utilize the space you have on the walls. Instead of folding your towel and setting it on top of the toilet, hang it up on the wall. You can easily add hooks and knobs of all shapes and sizes that are simple to install. Hanging things up keeps things off the floor, which makes your space look more organized and neat.

ADD NEW TILES

Adding new tile to your bathroom is a great way to switch things up. There are so many patterns and materials of tile that are available. No matter what type of theme or look you’re going for, you’re guaranteed to find something that matches your personal taste and style. Replacing old tiles with new tiles will also give your room a newer look, no matter how old the room actually is. Tile can be used on the walls, the floor, or even as a simple backsplash. No matter where you decide to use it, you can trust that it will be noticed.
