How To Clean Bathroom Tiles
With the Memorial Day weekend approaching, there’s a good chance that you will be opening up your home to guests over the long weekend. And if not, there’s still a good chance that you will be spending some of your extra time off work this weekend giving your house the deep cleaning that you’ve been putting off since the start of spring back in March. If you have plans to clean your bathroom tiles this Memorial Day weekend, it is important to do so carefully in order to preserve the great look of your bathroom tiles.
TEST YOUR CLEANING SOLUTION
Before you start wiping your chosen tile cleaning solution all over your bathroom, test the solution on an inconspicuous piece of bathroom tile first in order to be certain that you do not end up staining your tiles. A great choice for floor tiles would be the ones hidden by the toilet while the best choice for bathroom wall tiles would be the ones that are covered up behind an open door.
RUN YOUR SHOWER FIRST
While most tiles used in bathrooms are not porous enough to absorb water, you can “open up the pores” of your tile by running the shower for a couple minutes first. This will allow your cleaning solution to really penetrate the tiles and leave a lasting shine. In order to prevent water waste, cleaning your bathroom after a hot shower is a smart decision.
KEEP YOUR WINDOWS OPEN
When cleaning your bathroom, be sure to have plenty of ventilation. Because bathrooms are confined spaces, you do not want to be stuck breathing in the fumes of your cleaning solution! Keep your windows open, or if you do not have a bathroom window, you could run your bathroom’s ventilation fan.
